Graduate Student

Lauren grew up behind the Redwood Curtain in Arcata, California. After earning her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Cal Poly Humboldt, she worked in the local public health laboratory, contributing to epidemiologic studies on COVID-19 and environmental exposures. She later joined Genentech as a protein analytical chemist, where she evaluated drug purity and efficacy across a range of therapeutics. Lauren is currently a student in the Curriculum in Toxicology and Environmental Medicine, where she studies how environmental contaminants impact liver function and repair. Outside the lab, she enjoys watching movies, surfing, and planning trips with her sisters.
